Breaking News: Dallas Mavericks Finally Reunite with Two Former Sensational Stars to Add Value to Team’s Roster Depth…

The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly considering bringing back one of their former players this offseason. According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Mavs are looking at guards Dennis Smith Jr. and Spencer Dinwiddie, both of whom are unrestricted free agents.

Dennis Smith Jr., 26, was the ninth overall pick for the Mavericks in 2017 and made the All-Rookie team in his first season. Although he struggled to develop into a starter, he has become a reliable second-unit player, averaging 6.6 points and 3.6 assists per game with strong defense for the Brooklyn Nets last season.

Spencer Dinwiddie, 31, is known for his scoring ability and previously played for the Mavericks from 2022-23, contributing to their Western Conference Finals run in 2022. Dinwiddie was traded to the Brooklyn Nets in the Kyrie Irving deal and averaged 10.5 points and 4.7 assists per game last season with the Nets and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Mavericks, who had a weak bench during their recent NBA Finals run, could benefit from adding either Smith or Dinwiddie. Although both might now be seen as minimum-salary players, they could still provide valuable depth to the team’s roster.
