Bidding Opens for Match Balls from Victory Against Kazincbarcika

Bidding Opens for Match Balls from Victory Against Kazincbarcika
By purchasing the match balls, you can support the Albert Foundation.

As previously reported, our men’s football team, 36-time champions, secured a 3-0 home victory over Kazincbarcika in the season’s first home league match.

This season, we continue our charity initiative where, after each winning home league match, the balls signed by the scorers from Ferencváros are auctioned off. We invite bids on balls signed by Gavriel Kanikovszki, Barnabás Varga, and Zsombor Gruber.

The net proceeds from the auctions will be donated to the Albert Foundation.

The starting price for each match ball (which also reflects their average market value) is 57,990 HUF.

Bidding starts immediately after the final whistle. You can submit your bids by email to arveres@fradi.hu until midnight on the third working day following the home league match. The current auction status will be updated daily on fradi.hu after the match. Final results of the charity auction will be announced on the fourth working day post-match on our official website. Winners will be notified by email.

About the Albert Foundation

The Albert Foundation was established by two private individuals in 2010. Until October 2011, the foundation’s president was the namesake and golden ball winner legend, Flórián Albert himself. After his passing, on June 12, 2012, Jenő Sipos took over as president, with expanded goals. Due to these new objectives, the foundation’s name was changed to the Albert Flórián Football Youth and Sports Foundation.

In May 2013, Gábor Kubatov, president of our club, was appointed foundation president, a position he still holds today.

Since its inception, the foundation has launched several projects that have become traditions, such as the Fradi Family Day held annually in close cooperation with FTC at the FTC-MVM Népliget Sports Center, and the Albert Flórián memorial tournament series. Another initiative introduced was a school program to familiarize students with regular sports activities and their benefits, which later evolved into the Fradi School Program.

The foundation also annually presents awards. Since 2013, the Albert Award has been given to the best and top-scoring youth players, and a lifetime achievement award is presented to the most successful youth coach.

Beyond awards, the foundation supports many athletes throughout the year who have represented Ferencvárosi Torna Club with dedication, good results, and exemplary attitude. Some receive special support, but many promising football talents from various parts of the country have also been fostered by the foundation.

Preserving the legacy of its namesake and promoting Hungarian football culture and sports heritage are also key tasks of the foundation. The Albert Flórián memorial exhibition has been displayed in multiple locations across the country and even beyond the borders.
