South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers Shares Grounded View Amid Rising NFL Draft Buzz…

LaNorris Sellers, quarterback for South Carolina, is set to face immense expectations in the 2025 college football season, with his name already generating significant attention in early NFL Draft projections.

South Carolina was one of the most surprising teams in college football last year. After a strong finish to the regular season and several impressive wins against top-tier SEC opponents, the Gamecocks nearly earned a spot in the newly expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

Following that breakthrough year under head coach Shane Beamer, the Gamecocks are no longer underdogs heading into 2025. A key reason for their elevated profile is the return of dynamic dual-threat quarterback LaNorris Sellers, who’s emerging as a popular pick to lead South Carolina to the CFP.

Sellers has also climbed near the top of various NFL Draft boards. During a recent appearance at the Manning Passing Academy, the 20-year-old addressed the increasing attention from scouts and analysts, as reported by Alex Byington of On3 Sports.

“It’s cool seeing my name pop up in mock drafts,” Sellers said. “But I still have to perform on the field — that’s what I’m focused on.”

His composed mindset is critical, as he will carry the dual burden of fulfilling lofty draft expectations while also trying to lead South Carolina to victory in a competitive SEC environment.

Sellers is drawing serious interest from NFL teams for good reason. Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 240 pounds, he’s one of the most explosive athletes on the field, equally capable of delivering damage through the air or on the ground. While his passing still has room to grow, his raw physical talent is undeniable.

In the 2024 season, Sellers delivered a strong performance, throwing for 2,534 yards and 18 touchdowns against just seven interceptions. On the ground, he added 674 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, showcasing his versatility.

With a year of SEC experience behind him, Sellers is expected to make further strides in 2025. If he continues on this upward trajectory, he could find himself in serious Heisman Trophy conversations by midseason.
