According to kicker, Copenhagen midfielder Victor Froholdt is being viewed as the future replacement for Hugo Larsson at Eintracht Frankfurt.
All indications suggest that Froholdt will join Frankfurt this summer after reaching a verbal agreement with the club. The only remaining step is for Frankfurt to finalize a transfer fee deal with Copenhagen.
Once the 19-year-old arrives at Deutsche Bank Park, the plan is for him to eventually succeed Larsson. The Swedish international has been developing steadily at Frankfurt and is expected to leave the club in 2026 for a major European team.
This approach aligns with Frankfurt’s usual transfer strategy, where they prepare a successor for key players either by having them ready to join or already integrated into the squad. Examples include Randal Kolo Muani’s departure, followed by Hugo Ekitiké’s arrival, who is now expected to be replaced by Jonathan Burkardt. Similarly, Evan Ndicka was succeeded by William Pacho, who later moved to PSG, among others.
