AC Milan have been linked with numerous midfield targets this summer, but two prominent names may soon be ruled out.
With Tijjani Reijnders expected to join Manchester City for a fee between €70-75 million, Milan must now reinforce their midfield—a situation similar to when Sandro Tonali departed for Newcastle United, leaving a significant gap in the squad. Luka Modric is expected to be the first arrival, but given he is 39 years old, he cannot fill the void alone. Although Granit Xhaka remains a frequently discussed option, the club also seems keen on signing a younger player, with Javi Guerra emerging as a potential candidate.
Ricci and Jashari likely out of reach?
According to *Sportitalia* (via *MilanPress*), Samuele Ricci—who has been strongly linked with Milan—may now be headed elsewhere. Atalanta have entered the race, viewing the Torino captain as a possible replacement for Ederson should the Brazilian depart.
Milan’s interest in Ricci appears to be cooling, as their attention shifts to alternatives like Ardon Jashari of Club Brugge. However, acquiring Jashari presents its own challenges. The Belgian side has set a steep asking price of €45 million, and—judging by how firmly they stood their ground during the Charles De Ketelaere talks—they are unlikely to lower their demands.
