Emran Soglo, England U20 International, Signs with Sturm Graz from Marseille
SK Sturm Graz have officially announced the signing of 19-year-old Emran Soglo from Olympique de Marseille on a permanent deal.
Soglo, who previously moved to Marseille from Chelsea, made his professional breakthrough with the French club last season, earning his debut in the senior squad. He featured in nine matches across all competitions, contributing a goal and an assist.
Despite his promising development, Soglo’s contract was due to expire next summer, and no renewal was agreed upon. Under their current transfer policy, Marseille are now focused on selling players approaching the final year of their contracts if no extension is in place.
The highly adaptable youngster, capable of playing in both defensive and midfield roles, was reportedly close to a transfer to Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire. However, that deal unexpectedly collapsed for undisclosed reasons, creating the opportunity for Sturm Graz to step in and finalize the move.
