JUST IN: Nikola Jokic Unplugs in Serbia as Teammate Issues Rare Update from Nuggets…

Nuggets Veteran Shares Rare Offseason Update on Nikola Jokic

Three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic is spending his offseason back home in Serbia.

With the NBA offseason now underway for all teams except the Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder, franchises are shifting focus to the upcoming NBA Draft, free agency, and internal restructuring.

The Denver Nuggets are currently in search of a new general manager after parting ways with Calvin Booth just weeks before the end of the regular season. Despite the organizational changes, Jokic is clearly enjoying his time off.

Jokic, known for maintaining a low profile during the offseason, typically returns to Serbia to be with his horses. So when Nuggets veteran DeAndre Jordan gave fans a glimpse into Jokic’s summer activities during an appearance on FanDuel’s “Run It Back,” it quickly caught attention.

“When he goes home, he pretty much disconnects — throws his phone in the river,” Jordan joked. “I actually spoke to him about a week ago, and he sent me a selfie with one of his horses. I just told him, ‘Enjoy, brother.’”

Jokic delivered another phenomenal performance this past season, averaging a triple-double for the first time in his career — 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game — setting new career highs in both assists and scoring. However, he narrowly missed out on a fourth MVP award, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander taking the honor.

The Nuggets now face the tough task of reshaping their roster, one of the key reasons behind Booth’s dismissal. Russell Westbrook is expected to decline his player option and explore free agency, but Denver’s limited cap space restricts major moves. Still, with Jokic — arguably the best player in the world — leading the charge, the team is determined to make the necessary adjustments to stay competitive.
