Duke’s Kon Knueppel Earns NBA Draft Green Room Invite in Brooklyn
Standout Duke basketball player Kon Knueppel has secured one of the exclusive invitations to attend the NBA Draft in Brooklyn, a recognition given to just 13 prospects so far.
This prestigious invitation places Knueppel among the select few who will be present at the Barclays Center on June 25–26 for the draft’s first round. He is one of three Duke players from the 2024–25 season to receive this honor, joining highly touted teammates Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach. Together, the Blue Devil trio represents nearly a quarter of the green room invitees announced to date.
Standing at 6-foot-7, Knueppel is widely considered a likely lottery pick, with projections even suggesting he could be selected in the top five.
During his time at Duke, Knueppel—who was named the ACC Tournament’s Most Valuable Player—averaged 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He also impressed scouts with his 40.6% shooting from beyond the arc, steady composure, and advanced playmaking abilities.
Duke could potentially have as many as five players drafted this year, as former guards Sion James and Tyrese Proctor are also projected to be selected in the mid-to-late second round.
