Official: Germany U21 Striker Nicolo Tresoldi Joins Club Brugge…
Hannover 96 have finalized the high-value transfer of striker Nicolo Tresoldi to Club Brugge. The promising forward from the German 2. Bundesliga has made the move to the reigning Belgian Pro League champions for a fee that could reach up to €10 million including bonuses, according to transfermarkt.de. This marks the first transfer in Tresoldi’s professional career, highlighting his status as one of German football’s brightest young prospects.
Since debuting for the Germany U21 team in September 2023, Tresoldi has accumulated 11 caps and scored five goals at the youth international level. The 20-year-old is currently preparing to compete in the UEFA U21 European Championship under coach Antonio di Salvo. Should he maintain his current form, a senior national team call-up may be on the horizon.
Club Brugge continue their trend of scouting emerging talents from Germany’s second tier. Tresoldi will be aiming to replicate the success of former 2. Bundesliga standout Christos Tzolis, who joined Brugge from Fortuna Düsseldorf last year and has since flourished. The Belgian side is also reportedly eyeing Hamburger SV midfielder Ludovit Reis, another standout from the league.
Hannover 96 Sporting Director Marcus Mann commented on the transfer: “With Nicolo, we are parting with one of the most recognizable faces of Hannover 96. But at the same time, we take pride in having supported his development from our youth academy to a move that could take him to the Champions League. As a second-tier club, we rely on transfer revenues, and this move, like others in the past 18 months, reinforces our strategy of nurturing young talent.”
Tresoldi reflected on his departure, saying: “Over my eight years at Hannover, I’ve met many wonderful people and lived through unforgettable moments. I’m deeply thankful for the support I’ve received and the opportunity to grow here. While it’s hard to say goodbye, I know this is the right time to take the next step in my career. I’m excited for what lies ahead, even though leaving Hannover is not easy.”
