“Seal the Deal” – Aston Villa Urged to Step Up £34m Transfer Move for Bundesliga Midfield Talent
Aston Villa are poised to engage in summer transfer activity ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, with manager Unai Emery looking to strengthen his squad. The club is expected to both bring in new faces and offload players as they prepare for another campaign of high expectations.
The team from the Midlands ended the previous season on a disappointing note, missing out on a Champions League spot. A loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford on the final day saw their hopes dashed, with rival teams overtaking them and pushing Villa out of the top five—a bitter conclusion to an otherwise promising campaign.
Villa Target Farès Chaïbi in Ambitious Transfer Push
According to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, Aston Villa have initiated serious efforts to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Farès Chaïbi in a deal valued at around £34 million. The club is reportedly determined to “seal the deal” and secure the highly-rated Bundesliga midfielder in the coming weeks. Emery is believed to view Chaïbi as a valuable addition who could inject energy and creativity into Villa’s attack.
The 22-year-old Algerian international has impressed since arriving at Frankfurt in 2023, quickly becoming one of their standout players. His performances have made him a key figure for the German side and an attractive target for clubs across Europe.
Chaïbi, who has earned 17 international caps for Algeria, has featured in 73 matches for Frankfurt in all competitions, scoring five times—two of which came last season. His football journey began in youth setups at SC Bron Terraillon, AS Bron, and FC Lyon, before joining Toulouse in 2019, where he broke into the first team as a teenager.
During his time in France, Chaïbi made 43 appearances for Toulouse and scored eight goals, catching the attention of Frankfurt scouts. He is currently under contract with the German club until June 2028, meaning they are under no immediate pressure to sell and can hold out for a suitable offer.
Is Chaïbi a Good Fit for Aston Villa?
Chaïbi could offer Villa both depth and versatility as they prepare for a congested fixture schedule next season. His ability to play multiple attacking roles would provide Emery with more tactical flexibility, something that will be crucial in competing on various fronts.
Upon signing him, Frankfurt’s sporting director Timmo Hardung had this to say:
“With Farès Chaïbi, we’ve gained a young player with strong development potential and significant experience on both national and international stages. He’s adaptable across several attacking roles and brings qualities that will enhance our style of play. It was evident in our discussions how passionate he is about this opportunity and joining Eintracht Frankfurt. We’re excited to have him with us.”
As the transfer window heats up, Villa fans will be watching closely to see if the club can finalise this ambitious move.
