The Denver Broncos have revealed that the late Demaryius Thomas has been selected for induction into the team’s Ring of Fame in his first year of eligibility.
Thomas, a first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, played more than eight seasons with the Broncos. Widely regarded as one of the franchise’s greatest wide receivers, he earned five Pro Bowl selections and played a key role in the team’s victory in Super Bowl 50.
Throughout his career, Thomas set several franchise records, including the most receiving yards in a single regular season (1,619 in 2014) and the most receiving touchdowns in a season (14 in 2013).
His influence extended beyond the football field—Thomas was deeply respected in the locker room and cherished by fans and the broader Denver community. He remains one of the most adored players in the team’s history.
Tragically, Thomas passed away in 2021 after being found unresponsive in his home in Roswell, Georgia. His death was believed to be related to seizures.
“Demaryius Thomas’ induction into the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame—during his first year of eligibility—underscores the lasting legacy he left on both our organization and the wider community,” said team owners Greg and Carrie Penner in an official statement. “Though we deeply wish D.T. were here to witness this moment, we look forward to commemorating him alongside his Super Bowl 50 teammates during what promises to be a memorable alumni weekend.”
