Actor Max Ryder Faces Allegations of Misconduct During Production of Romantic Comedy ‘Love Contract’

Rising comedy star Max Ryder is at the center of controversy following allegations of sexual misconduct during the filming of the upcoming romantic comedy Love Contract, produced by Studio Apex Films.

According to sources close to the production, a female crew member filed a formal complaint alleging inappropriate behavior by Ryder during a closed set rehearsal last month. The incident is said to have occurred while filming in Atlanta, Georgia, where the crew had been stationed for six weeks.

The film, which stars Ryder alongside A-list actress Olivia Hart, follows a tech entrepreneur who tries to fake a marriage to save her company. Love Contract had been positioned as a potential summer hit, with an ensemble cast and a script by award-winning writers.

Production was temporarily halted last week as Studio Apex issued a statement saying they are “taking the matter seriously and have launched an internal investigation in cooperation with legal counsel and industry authorities.”

“We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful working environment for everyone involved in our productions,” the studio said. “All allegations are being thoroughly reviewed.”

Ryder, 31, known for his breakout stand-up special Maxed Out and supporting roles in sitcoms and indie films, has denied the allegations through his representatives.

“These claims are completely false,” a spokesperson for Ryder said. “Max maintains his innocence and is fully cooperating with the investigation.”

Lead actress Olivia Hart has not commented directly on the situation but posted a message on social media stating, “Every individual deserves to feel safe at work. I stand with those speaking up.”

The alleged victim, whose identity remains confidential, is being represented by civil rights attorney Lauren Bisset, who issued a brief statement: “My client is pursuing all available legal options and asks for privacy as this process unfolds.”

As the investigation continues, it remains unclear whether Love Contract will continue filming as scheduled. Industry insiders suggest the studio may recast Ryder’s role depending on the outcome of the inquiry.
