BREAKING NEWS: Grizzlies Head Coach Issues Crucial on Potential Deal After Unexpected News Emerge on Kevin Durant Trade Situation…

Unexpected Update Emerges on Kevin Durant Trade Situation

Following another underwhelming season, the Phoenix Suns appear poised for significant offseason changes. After finishing 49-33 in 2023–24 and getting swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round, the Suns regressed further this year, ending with a 36-46 record and failing to make the playoffs.

The team has already parted ways with head coach Mike Budenholzer after just one season, but further changes could be on the horizon—potentially involving star forward Kevin Durant, who recently completed his second full season with Phoenix.

On Wednesday, a new report shed light on Durant’s trade prospects, suggesting a shift in the narrative surrounding his future.

Durant, a Texas alum and two-time Finals MVP, has been at the center of trade speculation for months. Ahead of the February trade deadline, the Golden State Warriors were reportedly interested in reuniting with him. Despite the persistent rumors, NBA insider Jake Fischer reports that a trade is not set in stone.

Fischer noted that while it’s been widely expected that Durant would be on the trade block this summer—especially after Phoenix explored trade possibilities for him earlier this year—a return to the Suns remains on the table.

“Durant, who will turn 37 in September, was heavily involved in trade discussions before the deadline,” Fischer wrote. “But staying in Phoenix next season hasn’t been completely ruled out.”

The Memphis Grizzlies are among the teams that have been linked to Durant. In February, former Warriors executive Bob Myers revealed that Memphis made a push for him, though no deal was finalized.

Should Phoenix decide to entertain offers for the 15-time All-Star, the Grizzlies are likely to be among the top contenders. However, recent updates suggest that the Suns might hold on to Durant, which could force Memphis to consider other options this offseason.
