JUST IN: Grizzlies Reunites $197M Superstar with 3-Time MVP in Shocking NBA Trade…

A new NBA trade concept envisions a reunion between former AAU teammates on the New Orleans Pelicans. Following a disastrous 21-61 season, the Pelicans quickly overhauled their leadership, dismissing David Griffin as executive VP of basketball operations just a day after the season ended. In his place, they hired Joe Dumars, formerly of the Detroit Pistons, known for building the championship-caliber teams of the early 2000s.

Dumars is now tasked with reshaping a roster headlined by Zion Williamson, who once again missed a significant portion of the season due to injury. In a recent article, Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report proposed a trade that would bring Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant to New Orleans, pairing him with Williamson to create a potentially explosive partnership.

The suggested trade would send Dejounte Murray, Herb Jones, and a 2026 first-round pick to Memphis in exchange for the two-time All-Star. Although the Grizzlies have insisted that Morant is not on the trade block, the recent trade of Luka Dončić to the Lakers serves as a reminder that anything can happen in today’s NBA. The piece argues the move could make strategic sense for the Pelicans.

“New Orleans might consider trading Zion at the right price,” Buckley notes, “but they remain fascinated by his upside if he can finally stay healthy. If that happens, the team should go all-in. Why not take a big swing by reuniting him with his old AAU teammate?”

Should both Williamson and Morant remain healthy, they could become one of the league’s most dangerous duos. Their potential to dominate in transition and in pick-and-roll situations is undeniable. Add in sharpshooter Trey Murphy III, and the Pelicans could form a formidable trio with strong supporting players still in place.

Drafted first and second overall in 2019, Williamson and Morant have always been linked and continue to share mutual admiration. Injuries have slowed both of their careers so far, but their combined talent—if fully unleashed—could be a nightmare for opposing defenses.
