Viral Stat Highlights Nikola Jokic’s Struggles After Another Subpar Game
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is facing growing criticism following another disappointing shooting night in Sunday’s Game 4 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Jokic shot just 7-of-22 from the field (31.8%) in the 92-87 defeat at Ball Arena, marking his third consecutive game shooting under 40% in the series. This marks the first time Jokic has endured such a slump since November 23–27, 2018, when he posted a 31.7% shooting average over a three-game stretch.
During the regular season, Jokic had only one game where he shot below 40%, but he’s now done it three times in this playoff series alone.
Beyond shooting woes, Jokic is also falling short of his usual standards in other areas against the Thunder. He’s hit just 4 of 22 attempts from three-point range, is averaging only five assists per game, and his turnovers have more than doubled compared to his season average of 2.3 per game.
Despite the struggles, Jokic managed 27 points on Sunday—thanks in large part to hitting 11 of 14 free throws. He also contributed 13 rebounds, four steals, and just two turnovers.
While the series is still tied 2-2, Jokic’s recent performances have raised questions about his dominance. Some credit Oklahoma City’s defense for limiting him, while others believe Jokic isn’t getting enough favorable calls. Regardless, the Nuggets’ title hopes could be in jeopardy if their star doesn’t rebound soon.
