“People in Denver are saying Nikola Jokic finally feels comfortable… He’s more vocal than we’ve ever seen him,” Charania noted.
This shift may point to a deeper issue with Malone’s coaching style. While known for his disciplined approach, it sometimes bordered on micromanagement, potentially stifling player creativity.
For a player of Jokic’s caliber—a former MVP and NBA champion—being restricted from making key decisions may have been limiting. With more freedom now, Jokic is clearly embracing the chance to lead and influence the game his way.
